Breathe is a personal iPhone app for logging O2Trainer-style breather work, Wim Hof (Breath of Fire), square breathing, and CO₂ tables. This page describes what the app stores and where it goes.

What stays on your phone

Practice sessions, round times, notes, discomfort ratings, breather reps and resistance cap, preferences, and any heart-rate samples live in the app’s Core Data store on the device.

No iCloud

Breathe does not use CloudKit. The store does not sync through iCloud. There is no Breathe account.

Bluetooth

If you pair a chest-strap heart-rate monitor, Breathe uses Bluetooth to read the standard Heart Rate Service. The system prompt is: Connect a chest-strap heart-rate monitor for your breathing practice. Beats are stored in that session on the phone. They are not uploaded to a Breathe server — there isn’t one.

Apple Watch

The optional watch companion uses HealthKit to read heart rate during practice (Read heart rate during breathing practice.) and can save a mindfulness session (Save mindfulness session.). Samples stream to the iPhone app for the session. Breathe does not send that data to its own servers.

Audio

Breath tones, spoken phase prompts, and hold ticks play on the device. The audio session is set to mix with other apps. No microphone access. Nothing is recorded.

What we do not collect

  • No analytics SDK
  • No advertising identifier
  • No crash-reporting service
  • No Breathe backend that receives sessions or heart rate

Children

Breathe is not directed at children under 13.
