Breathe tracks O2Trainer-style breather work, Wim Hof (Breath of Fire), square breathing, and CO₂ tables. Each one has a pacer. Each one keeps its own history.

Inhale
The four
Open the tab, tap +, run it, save. History is per protocol — mixing a 35-second CO₂ hold into a Wim Hof max would make both numbers useless, so they stay apart.
O2Trainer work
You breathe against a resistance cap and tap each rep. Thirty reps is the calibration: over 4.5 minutes, drop the cap; under 3 minutes, go higher. The pace chart shades that band.
Basic, Exercise 1, Exercise 2, and Exhale. Cap 1–14 mm. History charts the cap you used.
Wim Hof
A round is paced breaths, then an exhale hold you end yourself, then a timed inhale hold. Set breaths per round, cycle length, inhale hold, and how many rounds.
History charts your best hold.
Square breathing
Four equal sides — inhale, hold, exhale, hold. The interval is 3–15 seconds and applies live, mid-cycle. At 4 seconds the pacer is a square; at 5 it is a pentagon.
History charts duration.
CO₂ tolerance
Rest is untimed tidal breathing — no pacer. Then a hold at about 40–50% of a comfortable max. After each hold you rate discomfort 1–10.
Change one thing at a time: shift the rest ladder, or add five seconds to the hold. Not both. History charts rounds completed.
Default table
Eight rounds. Rest from 2:00 to 0:15 in 15-second steps. Hold 35 seconds. You can edit every row.
| Round | Rest | Hold |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2:00 | 35s |
| 2 | 1:45 | 35s |
| 3 | 1:30 | 35s |
| 4 | 1:15 | 35s |
| 5 | 1:00 | 35s |
| 6 | 0:45 | 35s |
| 7 | 0:30 | 35s |
| 8 | 0:15 | 35s |
How you use it
Breather, Breath of Fire, Box, or CO₂ Table. The list is that practice’s history.
The workout opens in a sheet. Breather counts taps. The others run a pacer.
Notes are optional. A running workout that leaves the sheet sits in a mini player.
Cap, best hold, duration, or rounds — whichever number that practice actually produces.
On the phone
Breath tones, phase voice, and a 15-second hold tick sit on top of whatever is already playing. A boost slider keeps the cue audible without ducking the bed. Box and the CO₂ table can sound at once through one engine.
The CO₂ screen embeds Box Breathing. During the table’s exhale hold, Box pauses itself and comes back on the next inhale, so the two pacers do not fight.
A BLE chest strap (Polar H10 and anything else on the standard Heart Rate Service) shows live bpm on the practice screens. An Apple Watch companion can stream HealthKit heart rate. Samples stay in the session on the phone.
Portrait. Optional Apple Watch for heart rate. Sessions, notes, and HR samples live in Core Data on the device — no account, no iCloud, no Breathe server. Not on the App Store yet.
